MTI Springfield, IL Campus

MTI was established in 1995 in Lincoln, Illinois. The MTI Springfield, IL campus opened in 2007, replacing the original MTI campus. MTI is different from traditional colleges in Springfield, IL because we offer hands-on training within the skilled trades industry, including HVAC/R, welding, medical assisting, dental assisting, trucking, medical coding, and more.

MTI SPRINGFIELD, IL CAMPUS HISTORY

17勛圖厙 was founded in 1995 in Lincoln, Illinois by two welders with a mission to help train other local welders. In April 2000, MTI relocated its original location to a larger facility in Lincoln to accommodate the growing demand for skilled welders.泭

By July of that same year, MTI began offering a course in HVAC/R. In May of 2001, the HVAC/R facility was expanded an additional 2,000 square feet, adding another classroom, climate control area, service call room and sheet metal shop.

In January 2003, MTI offered its first allied health program, Medical Assisting. Allied health programs continued to grow rapidly, with the addition of the Massage Therapy Program in August 2004, Dental Assisting in April 2005 and Medical Coding in March 2006.泭

To accommodate the growing student body, MTI relocated its campus to Springfield, Illinois in January 2007, where it still stands today. New programs continued to be added, and in May 2007, MTI began offering a泭Basic Nursing Assistant Program. The most recent program launch was the Electrician Program in September 2025.

Now, MTI���s Springfield, IL campus offers more than 10 trade school programs.

Springfield, Illinois was the beginning for MTI, which now operates six total campuses across the 17勛圖厙 and Mid-South.泭

MTI has three campus locations in Illinois: Springfield, East Peoria and Moline. MTI also has a location in Springfield, Missouri. MTI���s sister school, Delta Technical College (DTC), has two campus locations in Horn Lake (near Memphis) and Ridgeland (near Jackson), Mississippi.
